Ready to plan your exploration of Cumberland Gap? Well, pack your bags and stay with us in our unique and comfortable Thomas Walker Annex – the inn’s newest and largest pet-friendly room! Completed in September 2019, the Thomas Walker Annex has a way of stirring adventurous excitement for those who stay here. This spacious room is named and decorated in honor of the first documented explorer through the historic Cumberland Gap, Dr. Thomas Walker. It’s a one-room oasis that boasts 2 queen-sized beds, a generous sitting area, work desk, longer-term amenities (including mini fridge/freezer combo, microwave, Keurig), and even a separate mudroom for storage of bicycles, luggage, pet supplies, etc. A major highlight of the room is its large, partially covered private deck alongside Gap Creek.

This room is attached to the main house, but only accessible by a private entrance from the inn’s rear parking area (behind the Little Congress Bicycle Museum). It’s basically its own apartment, so it’s great for guests who may need to stay in Cumberland Gap for an extended period of time. Guests will need to walk outdoors and up the deck stairs to enter the main house and dining room for meals, so please keep that in mind for mobility and inclement weather reasons.

If you’d love the ultimate privacy, plenty of space, and still a bit of historic flare, then the Thomas Walker Annex may be just the ticket for you. Click HERE today to book and claim this wonderful space for your next getaway!
